Usually my experience with the practice is very good however there is the occasional instance when I have felt that I needed more help and assistance this is very unusual and when I spoke of this matter I found that this was rectified. Being disabled normal everyday tasks can be difficult and I usually manage , the occasional time that I don't I really appreciate help.

Suggested improvements
Can't think of anything other than improving the telephone answering when calling for an appointment.The receptionist team is very effective and seems to answer all the questions that are asked if them. One thing that needs to be addressed is the music that is played for waiting calls, it desperately needs updating.

You have to ring on the day. I rang at 8:30 and was still 20th in the queue. Managed to get an appointment. When I turned up was told I had missed it the receptionist gave me the wrong time. Had to them wait for the doctor to be free or come back another day. We waited had to wait half an hour. Booking an appointment is painful and I avoid doing so where possible.

Make it easier to book. More online appointments.

I’m lucky not to have to use the surgery regularly but when I do it is adhoc so has to be one of the emergency appointments given on the day. The last few times I have needed one, all appointments have gone by the time I get through… calling at 8.30am and going straight in a looooong queue, I have then been referred to 111 to be triaged for them to then send the surgery a message saying yes she needs to be seen today, then to get one of the other appointments available that have now magically appeared. The process just seems to waste time of all involved.

Suggested improvements
Why can’t I’ve triaged by someone in surgery in order to cut out the middle man…111… they can then prioritise rather than wasting 111s time?!

NHS 111 is a national help line to make it easier and quicker for patients to get the right advice or treatment they need, be that for their physical or mental health. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
